A Time To Change
It's obvious which traits are desirable in an instructor. If you notice early on that your instructor exhibits more negative traits than positive, it may be time to make a change before wasting more money and time.
You should never be hesitant or afraid to change instructors. After all, you are the paying customer. It's not uncommon for a student who encounters a seemingly intractable training problem and whose progress slows as a result of it to become discouraged and drop out of flying, when a simple change in instructors may well have made the difference. A new set of eyes, a different personality, a fresh perspective on the problem, past experience helping other students overcome the same obstacle ‚ any of these qualities may be all it takes in a different instructor.
